​Nordic Impact Funds: Partnering for Sustainable Development in Africa ​

Lisbeth Zacho, CEO of Nordic Impact Funds, shares insights on why her company is a strategic member of Access2innovation. She emphasizes the collaborative efforts and benefits of this membership in driving economically sustainable development in Africa.

Strategic Membership for a Shared Vision

"We are strategic members of Access2innovation for many reasons," begins Lisbeth Zacho. "First and foremost, because of our shared mission. At Nordic Impact Funds, we are committed to economically sustainable development in Africa, and it is therefore only natural that we should be part of this journey together."

For Zacho, the alignment between Nordic Impact Funds' mission and Access2innovation's objectives is clear.

"It provides me with a wealth of resources and contacts. This is true both in East Africa, where we are engaged, and in Denmark. For example, it is a great benefit to be able to draw on the expertise and networks of Access2innovation’s local office in Kampala. The membership also gives us a platform where we meet potential investment partners and other Danish companies that are engaged in East Africa. This is very useful for us," she explains.

In this A2i-talk, Andrew Julius Bende will talk about the Global Market Initiative launched in early 2023 by the BioInnovation Institute (BII) and how research, innovation and venture-building are integrated into these efforts.

He will outline the ambitions to bridge the many incredible startups and cutting-edge innovations with emerging markets in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to address unmet needs and potentially impact the lives of millions of people.

Working with partners across India and East Africa over the past year, this talk will highlight learnings, initial strategies, and initiatives that BII has put in place to achieve this goal, while welcoming inputs, reflections, partnerships, and feedback on how BII’s value can be optimally delivered.
